Denver ranks 5th in Siemens’ Green City index

Denver ranked as the 5th greenest city among 27 across the United States and Canada, placing first in two of 10 categories — energy and environmental governance — measured by the Siemens-sponsored project. San Francisco ranked first overall, but it and Denver were among only four cities that led two of the ten categories scored by the Economist Intelligence Unit, a part of the Economist publishing company. Vancouver and New York City also led two categories. In energy, Denver residents used nearly half the average electricity used by consumers in the 27 cities surveyed for the index.
