Hiring plans up in Manpower state survey

Sixteen percent of employers across the state expect to hire new workers during the first quarter of 2012, 2 percent more than indicated hiring plans during the fourth quarter of 2011, according to the quarterly Manpower Employment Outlook Survey for the state. Nine percent of Denver/Aurora employers expect to decrease staff levels after the first of the year, an increase of 2 percent of employers surveyed in Q-4.  In Colorado Springs, 13 percent of employers surveyed said they planned to hire new workers after the New Year, while only 6 percent said they planned to cutback their workforce. That figure was down four percentage points from expectations in the fourth quarter in the Springs.
